SQL Configuration Specialist
The Opportunity:
SteepRock is an established software and services firm with a unique approach to important pharmaceutical industry issues on an enterprise scale. SteepRock has an immediate opening for a SQL Configuration Specialist. In this position, you will be working closely with Senior Configuration Specialists, Developers and Senior Developers, Sales, and Client Services to deliver highly customizable solutions to clients.
This position allows the successful candidate to work from your home office a majority of the time.
SteepRock is seeking self-starters who will be passionate about their work, who enjoy learning, innovating, and working with others.
Work Experience: 2+ years of experience writing SQL for relational databases
Educational Requirements: Bachelor's degree
Technical Requirements: Strong SQL skills with the ability to create complex queries and understand unique data structures. Experience with relational databases (MySQL, Oracle, SQL Server, preferred) and knowledge of data structures is required. Some experience or knowledge of and an ability to work with UNIX/LINUX/Windows is desirable but not required. Strong communication skills and an interest in learning and innovating are a must.
Responsibilities & Duties:
1. Perform system configuration using SQL
2. Participate in client configuration analysis; propose solutions to business requirements based on current functionality
3. Set up new client systems
4. Maintain/enhance existing client configurations
5. Work with developers to provide configuration SQL for newly coded features
6. Analyze data-related problems and implement fixes
7. Set up custom configuration for sales and customer demonstrations
8. Document new configuration features as required
9. Create SQL queries as needed to retrieve data in support of client questions or needs
10. Work with Client Services to trouble shoot problems as needed
