    Description
    Hanger Orthopedic Group, Inc., dedicated to serving the Orthotic and Prosthetic community has an opening for Database Administrator. This position is responsible for support, maintenance and daily review of approximately sixty Microsoft SQL (2005 & 2008) servers; daily review and trouble-shooting of 300+ SQL jobs; review of T-SQL code, DTS and SSIS packages before releasing to production as well as executing approved data changes in production.



    Essential Functions:



    · Experience with application of SQL service packs

    · Experience with in-place SQL upgrades between 2000, 2005 and 2008

    · Good knowledge of all aspects of Microsoft SQL, including: T-SQL syntax, stored procedures, triggers, views and functions

    · Ability to write T-SQL code to accomplish small tasks, such as gathering file/wait statistics or index utilization

    · Backup and restore databases between environments

    · Provide 24/7 on-call rotating server production support

    · Identify, diagnose and resolve server performance issues (hardware or software)

    · Superior communication and problem solving skills

    · Ability to complete multiple simultaneous projects in a timely manner

    · Actively contribute to ongoing process improvement

    · Performs other duties or special projects as assigned





    Requirements
    · Over four years as a dedicated Microsoft SQL server database administrator

    · Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university is desired; two years of experience can be substituted for one year of formal education

    · MCDBA/MCITP: Database Administrator certifications are a plus

    · Knowledge of server, database and query tuning and optimization is a plus

    · Experience with SAN technology (specifically, NetApp) is a plus

    · Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Windows 2003 (Windows 2008 is a plus)

    · Familiarity with ITIL is desired

    · Ability to self-learn, act on own initiative and work in a dynamic environment

    · Healthcare and/or financial application experience desired
