Web Java Developer - Software Engineer I - Technical
Location: Austin, TX
Description: We are currently looking for a Web Java Developer - Software Engineer I.
Responsibilities:
Designing and implementing web applications and services using Java programming language, HTML, JavaScript, CSS, AJAX, Flash, and/or Shockwave
Work with other team members to identify and implement features and functionality that create a unique and superior web experience for our customers
Build back-end “content management” functionality for administrative interfaces to web applications
Use modern Java development libraries and toolkits including Tapestry, Hibernate, JForums, MySQL, and others to create feature-rich web applications
Follow standard Agile development methodologies to implement solutions
Requirements:
4-year Technical (CS, Engineering) Degree required
Java development – 2+ years
Servlets/JSP – 1+ years
Java persistence (Hibernate, EJB, JDBC) – 1+ years
Databases/SQL – 2+ years
Web applications and web systems design/architecture – 1+ years
Web development – 3+ years
HTML/XHTML – 3+ years
Object oriented design – 2+ years
Excellent personal presentation, oral, and written skills also required.
Preferences
Tapestry, Hibernate, JForums, or other Java “community” toolkits
Flash/Shockwave/Director11 programming
AJAX/JavaScript programming
Web Portal Applications Programming (Portlets, Wiki, Blogs, etc.)
Web Services/SOA/SCA
SOAP
Use of patterns in development
High-volume web site development
Multi-player web-based game development and delivery
Windows and Linux deployment experience
